3.7 Loading Magazines into the DRM-5004X
After loading the discs into the disc magazines as described in
Section 3.6 Loading Discs into the Disc Magazines , the magazines
are ready to be loaded in the DRM-5004X. Follow the directions
below to load the disc magazines into the changer:
1. After the discs have been loaded into the magazine and the
green shipping plate installed, the magazine can be placed into
the DRM-5004X. Load magazines from the bottom of the unit
to the top.
NOTE: If a space for a magazine inside the unit is left empty,
the DRM-5004X will not access discs in upper the magazines.
2. Unlock and open the front door using the accessory door key.
3. The disc transporter must be at the lowest vertical position before
installing magazines.
CAUTION : If the disc transporter is not at the lowest position,
reset the system by powering down the unit and then powering
it back on. Then, power off the unit and proceed with installa-
tion of magazines.
4. Grasp the sides of the magazine with fingers fully extended.
Use your index finger to release the lock release levers on each
side. See
Figure 3-10 , Grasp the Magazine. Do not touch the
stainless steel Encoder/Sensor Plates on sides of the magazine.
5. Slide the magazine into the DRM-5004X using the bottom posi-
tion guides to position the magazines correctly. Insert until
the side locks engage and you hear a clicking sound. See
Fig 3-11.
CAUTION : Keep hands flat against the sides of the magazine to
facilitate placing magazines into the unit and to prevent injury.
6. Confirm that the magazine is locked into place by pulling
slightly forward on the magazine. The magazine is in place
when it cannot be pushed back any further and when the side
locks click into place.
7. Remove the green shipping plate from the magazine and place
it inside the front door on a shipping plate bracket. See Figure
3-9 , Storing Shipping Plates Inside the Front Door.
8. Repeat the procedure until all five magazines are in place.
