9. Switch the Flight Mode toggle to 3D. Be prepared that the pitch and rpms will increase. Make a couple of horizontal circular
flights to become adjusted to the performance of the model in this flight regime.
10. The spin is made against the wind. Gain altitude for safety. Fly the model forward at high speed in the windward direction
to gain as much speed as possible.
11. Then turn into the wind and while maintaining your speed drive your model up to perform a loop.
12. Be sure to maintain airspeed. In order to do this we suggest executing the maneuver in the following 4 steps:
a. Enter the loop, smoothly increase the throttle while at the same time pulling the pitch control stick towards yourself.
b. 2nd step - as the model approaches the top of the loop, continue to hold the pitch control stick in a position towards
yourself, and drop the main rotor pitch closer to zero (throttle central position) if necessary you can adjust the rotor
pitch to a negative position of -3° to -5° (throttle stick a bit lower than central). The model’s inertia should carry it past
the top point of the loop.
c. 3rd step - The rotor is facing the ground, and is flying downward, continue to hold the pitch stick towards yourself, and
bring the pitch to 0 degrees.
d. 4th step – The helicopter exits the loop – continue to hold the pitch stick towards yourself, and adjust the main rotor
pitch to +3° to +5°. When the model reaches a horizontal position correct the course and continue further horizontal
flight forward.
Next Figure – The Roll
1. Rolls are executed with a tailwind if present. Fly with the wind pushing your tail along the horizontal plane.
a. Enter into the figure by moving the roll control stick from left to right while at the same time maintaining forward
speed.
b. Then the model rolls along its lengthwise axis by 90°, the model is flying a maneuver known as the knife. Hold the
model in this position and reduce the main rotor pitch to 0°.
c. The model will continue to rotate by 90 degrees. Hold the roll position and reduce the main rotor pitch to -3° to -5°.
d. Once the model has rotated 270 degrees the model is flying on the knife again, just on the other side. At this point
increase the main rotor pitch to 0°.
e. To finish the roll the helicopter rotates 360° around it’s a axis, gradually increase the main rotor pitch to 3° to 5° and
return the roll stick to its neutral position.
2. After completing 3D maneuvers bring the model to a hover.
3. Switch the Flight Mode toggle to NOR. Be prepared for the RPMs to drop and be ready to compensate. Only once you have
switched back to NOR will you be able to land and turn off the motor.
