1.1 Package contents:
• 2.4 GHz V2 Wireless receiver
• 4-wire Digital bus cable
• 8-wire Analog bus cable
• Owner’s manual
PLEASE NOTE: This owner’s manual is only valid for firmware version 2.0 and higher.
Make sure that all wireless components (throttle and receiver) in your system use
version 2.0 or higher. Your Navigator throttle should use version 2.2 or higher.
2. Item Description
The PIKO wireless receiver transforms data received from the PIKO Navigator wireless
throttle into digital or analog signals for the PIKO Digital Central Station or the PIKO analog
throttle. Its powerful 2.4GHz signal lets you operate a wireless throttle up to 300 feet away
virtually interference-free. (Note: obstacles like walls or other devices using the same
frequency may reduce or limit effective range.) The receiver is connected to your layout’s
digital command center or analog throttle using one of two bus cables. The unit’s electronics
are located inside durable housing that protect them from the elements, however, if used
outdoors it is advisable to place the assembly inside a model building for further protection
from the elements.
2.1 Connecting the receiver to your control system:
Open the receiver’s housing by removing the 4 screws that secure the unit’s cover to the
unit’s base. Carefully remove the circuit board from the housing and place it onto a stable,
non-slip base such as a mouse pad. Insert the required cable into the corresponding
socket with the contact surface facing upwards. Receiver #35038 includes two connecting
cables: 1 analog 8-wire cable for PIKO #35002 and 1 digital 4-wire cable for PIKO #35010.
CAUTION: Only connect one of the two cables. The receiver cannot be connected to both
an analog and a digital system at the same time or the receiver will be destroyed!
Attention: Please also keep in mind that the 8-wire analog plug is wider than the
4-wire digital plug, and neither plug should be inserted into the incorrect socket as
it could damage the receiver. (see Fig. 1)
