Device Name

a name used to alias a device connected to FMGuard.
Device Address
–
slave ID of the device connected to FMGuard.
Communication Type
–
Either RTU or TCP (TCP is not yet available).
Interval
–
the time interval by which FMGuard will query the device via Modbus.
Polled
–
Check to start polling data from the device connected to FMGuard.

Tag Name
–
Tag description, this depends on what device is connected to this tag.
Address
–
Please ask your device supplier for the Modbus Address Mapping. For Picobox
DAQ users please refer to the PicoboxDAQ_UserManual for the mapping.
The tag address on PicoboxDAQ for FMGuard are the last 3 numbers of the address.
Tag Type
–
There are 4 type of tag address on FMGuard
Modbus Coil, Modbus Discrete
Input, Modbus Input Register
and
Modbus Holding Register.
If a tag address starts with 0x, it is identified as Modbus coil.
If a tag address starts with 1x, it is identified as Modbus discrete input.
If a tag address starts with 3x, it is identified as Modbus input register.
If a tag address starts with 4x, it is identified as Modbus holding register.
Example: Picobox 16DI Pin 6 has a tag address of 10006. If you configure it on
FMGuard, 6 is the tag address while 1x or Modbus Discrete Input is the
tag type.
Picobox 8AII Pin 3 has a tag address of 30004. If you configure it on
FMGuard, 4 is the tag address while 3x or Modbus input register is the
tag type.
