2. Once the FTDI cable has been inserted into your computer USB port make note of which COM
port is added to your device manager list of ports:
Ports (COM & LPT)
Communications Port (COM1)
USB Serial Port (COM4)
The list of connections ports, where the USB Serial device, COM4, is the newly inserted
FTDI cable.
3. Download Putty, Realterm, or your preferred terminal emulator.
4. Using Putty: Select “Serial” below connection type.
5. Enter your COM port in the “Serial line” dialog box.
6. Enter 57600 (the baud rate) in the “Speed” dialog box.
