When thread catcher 2

2 is pushed forwards manually with the take-up lever at its TDC, the
lower point of the thread catcher must pass

over the back of hook

Loosen screw

enough so that thread catcher

can be turned.

Loosen the screws in retaining collar

Bring the take-up lever to its TDC by turning the balance wheel.

Move thread catcher

in accordance with the
requirement.

In this position, and taking care to ensure that retaining collar

is touching the shaft
bushing, tighten screws

of the retaining collar.
Screw 1 remains loosened for the following adjustment.
