Removal of the main harness
- Remove the fuel tank assembly (see operation 2A)
- Remove the side fairings (see operation 4)
- Remove the side fairings and the centre fairing (see
operation 5)
- Disconnect the battery (1)
- Disconnect the connection with the rear harness (2)
- Disconnect the voltage regulator/flasher unit(3)
- Disconnect the horn (4)
- Disconnect the engine earth lead (5)
- Remove the fuse holder assembly from its support

- Disconnect the starter motor relay and its earth wire
(7)
- Disconnect the temperature sensor (8)
- Disconnect the ignition module (9)
- Disconnect the starter motor (10)
- Disconnect the neutral switch (11)
- Disconnect the flywheel outlet yellow wire (12)
- Remove the headlight (see operation 1B)
- Disconnect the control cluster connectors
LH and RH sides (13) and (14)
- Disconnect the RH cluster brake light switch
- Disconnect the instrument panel (16)
- Remove the electrical part of the steering lock (17)
As the lock is connected inside the machine front
structure, it is preferable to use this method to
facilitate refitting
- Remove the RH and LH cable grommets (18 and 19)
Preparation:
- Wrap a few turns of sticky tape around the rear left
(A), front right (C), rear right (D) and the harness
ends to facilitate its extraction from the frame front
structure
Without pulling untowardly, gradually
pull out the harness through the frame LH side
opening in the following order:
1.
the taped assembly (1) of the LH connections
(starter motor relay, etc)
2.
the steering lock harness (B) section located
inside the frame
3.
the front RH connection taped assembly (C)
4.
feed the rear RH connection taped assembly (D)
through the frame
5.
complete extraction through the LH opening
