-
risk of burns due to contact with hot parts of the machine, especially before prolonged and
intense use
-
presence of dust and vibrations, even if with lower values than the one established by laws,
are a residual risk which is impossible to eliminate completely during working.
Always check that the machine is disconnected from the power sources
(electric and pneumatic) before executing any intervention concerning
cleaning, lubrication, maintenance, repairing, adjusting or parts replacement.
The operator should never leave the machine unattended when in use.
After switching off the machine, the operator must be certain to wait until the
machine comes to a complete standstill before walking away.

R
ESIDUAL RISKS RELATED TO THE WORKED MATERIAL
There are also residual risks related to the worked material:
-
Risk of fire:
the worked material is inflammable, so it is forbidden to use free flames close
to the machine. There is a pictogram on the machine related to this danger. A correct
cleaning of the machine (as stated in this manual) reduce the probability of fire on the
machine;
-
Risk of explosion:
this is related to the possibility of having explosive atmospheres (mixture
of dust and air) inside the machine and in the dust extraction tubes. For all these reasons is
necessary to adopt the following rules (as described in the EN 859 rule):
Check regularly that the dust extraction parameters
requested by the constructor of the machine are satisfied.
These values are studied in designing the machine to
avoid explosive atmospheres inside the machine;
Connect the machine only to plants declared in keeping
with the EN12779 regulation, and in particular having
primer sensors and fire extinguisher devices (see the
figure on the right, extracted from the above mentioned rule)
If the machine is connected to the dust extraction plant using flexible pipes, be sure that
they are made of self-fire extinguishing, antistatic material, suitable for grounding any
electrostatic charges due to the dust-air mixture passing inside the pipes.
3.6.
S
AFETY DEVICES
The machine is equipped with suitable guards to protect all the persons exposed to hazards
resulting from mobile transmission elements (pulleys, belts, ball bearing screws, etc.), mobile
working elements (cutting tools) and throwing of machining parts (pieces, tools, chips, etc.).
Check periodically the integrity of these protection devices and perform all needed maintenance
operations so the machine is always in good and safe state.
