IDS-305F Hardware Installation Guide

Ethnernet Connector - 8-pin RJ-45

Fiber Port Cabling Requirements

Duplex SC or ST Connector

• Multimode 50/125 or 62.5/125 micron fiber cable
• Single mode 9/125 micron fiber cable

Simplex (BIDI, single strand) SC or ST connector

• Multimode 50/125 or 62.5/125 micron fiber cable
• Single mode 9/125 micron fiber cable

Connect the fiber cable to Port 5 on the IDS switch and the other end to a compliant fiber device. If you
are making your own fiber cables, remember that the RX on one side needs to go to TX on the other side
and vice versa. See diagram below.
