OPERATION
WORkPIECE SUPPORT
Never use the help of
another person as a substitute for a table
extension or as a support for a workpiece
that is longer or wider than the basic
miter table and the attached extension
supports. Never have another person
help feed, support, or pull the workpiece
instead of using table extensions.
To use the fence (fig. 21)
Align the workpiece flush against the fence.
This will help to eliminate the tendency of
the teeth of the blade to bind. The fence
can be used to support miter, bevel, and
compound cuts.
Hold-down clamp (fig. 21)
1. This clamp easily secures a workpiece
in either of two clamp holes behind the
fence.
2. Rotate the knob to tighten the work
piece.
3. Move the head assembly to verify that
the clamps will not interfere with the cut.
WARNING:
FIG. 21
Long workpiece support (fig. 22)
Long workpieces should be supported
using the extension wings.
1. Insert both rails of an extension wing
through the two holes on the left and
right sides of the Miter Saw base.
2. Tighten the knobs that lock the
extension wings in position. Make sure
that the extension wings do not move.
Clamping wide workpieces
When cutting wide workpieces (such as 2
x 8” (5 x 20 cm) boards) the boards MUST
BE clamped using the hold-down clamp
provided or a C-clamp (sold separately).
