When the machine is disconnected from the tractor the P.T.O. shaft should rest in the corresponding chain of the 3-point
bow.
Remark: Using an oversized tractor (up to -180 over 75Hp, -210 over 100Hp) it is recommended to install an
overload clutch.
This clutch should be adjusted at the following value:
- BG2/BK2-105, -120, -135, -150, -180 P.T.O. speed 540 RPM: 1450 Nm (12.750 inlb.)
- BG2/BK2-210 P.T.O. speed 540 RPM: 1850 Nm (16.400 inlb.)
*** Optional: P.T.O. Speed 1000 RPM 1200 Nm ( 10.500 inlb.)
1.4.5 Gearbox
To protect the oil to drain, the breather is replaced by plastic plug during transport from manufacturer to the farmer.
Before taking the machine in service the plastic plug must be replaced by the breather. During transport the breather is
fixed to the drive shaft of the gearbox.
1.4.6 Transport
If the flail mower needs to be unloaded / moved, use a lifting device that is
suitable for the weight of the flail mower concerned (see technical
specifications).
The machine must be lifted with a lifting strap on the 3-point hitch and lifting
eye.
1.5 Precautions
Every time before you take the machine in service the following items have to be checked:
•
The machine and the tractor checked for operational and road safety
•
That all bolts and nuts are sufficiently tight. Retighten if necessary
•
Oil level in gearbox (chapter 1.7)
•
V-belt tension (chapter 1.8)
•
Condition of cutting flails (chapter 1.9)
•
Grease points (chapter 1.10)
1.6 Driving speed
Depending on quantity, size and character of vegetation and working conditions the recommended driving speed is 2 – 5
km./h. (3/4 – 3 M.P.H.). However, it is up to the operator to respond to the circumstances at all times to prevent
blockages / damage the machine. The diameter of the pruning should not be greater than 90 mm (3 ½ ")
1.7 Gearbox
Before operating the machine and further at regular intervals, the following points should be checked:
•
Oil level:
This is correct when the oil comes out of the bottom hole (green arrow) of the oil
level plug.
•
Breather:
The air vent (red arrow) must not be clogged. The convex cap must be easy to press.
Clean if necessary by blowing through the air vent from the “inside”.
Renew oil after the first 20 working hours and further after every 100 working hours, but at least once a season.
To renew the gearbox oil handle as follows:
