3.6 COMBO OPERATION
Serial COMBO connection
Communication to E-IPFC is implemented through a private protocol using the COMBO serial port.
Each E-IPFC (up to 8 units) must be connected via a three-pole cable (0.5 mm2) wired to the S1 +,
S1-, G. terminals
A sensor connected to each E-IPFC must be used to implement the COMBO operation.
Setting the master unit
Combos
ON/OFF
Enabling the ON function for the combined operation of multiple pumps in parallel (up
to 8). (See dedicated Chapter)
Address
XX
Set address 00
Toggling
ON/OFF
Enable toggling between COMBO units.
The operation priority order is toggled on the basis of the previous start-up of each
pump so that almost uniform wear of the pumps is obtained.
Toggling period
XX [h]
Maximum difference in hours between multiple E-IPFC within the group.
0 means 5 minutes.
AUX start delay
t = XX [s]
This is the time delay with which the pumps in groups start after the variable speed
pump has reached the maximum motor frequency and the measured value has drop
-
ped below the set – delta control value.
Automatic start-up
ON/OFF
Select ON to allow the replacement of the master in the event of its failure.
Setting the slave units
In the event of a master failure in a COMBO system, the master will be replaced by the slaves (with
priority based on the address). As a result, all parameters must be set on every unit. It is recommended
to use the “Copy” function to program slaves starting from master programming.
