Use shielded cables by grounding the shield using EMC clips.
Digital inputs
IN1: Motor start / stop
IN2: Motor start / stop or exchange of set value 1 - 2 *
* only when in control mode: constant value 2 values.
The use of voltage-free contacts is recommended.
Digital inputs can be configured as Normally Open or Normally Closed. Read the chapter dealing with
programming.
The use of pre-insulated test leads is recommended. Use shielded cables by grounding the shield.
Digital outputs (relays)
NO1, COM1: Motor status, contact closed with motor running.
NC1, COM1: Motor status, contact closed with motor stopped.
NO2, COM2: alarm status, contact closed without alarm.
NC2, COM2: alarm status, contact closed with alarm or without power supply.
Relays are voltage-free contacts. Maximum applicable voltage 250V and 2A.
The use of pre-insulated test leads is recommended.
Use shielded cables by grounding the shield.
Serial COMBO
S1+, S1-, G
It is recommended that polarity be observed by connecting multiple E-IPFC devices together (up to
8).
The use of pre-insulated test leads is recommended.
Use shielded cables by grounding the shield.
MODBUS RTU serial
S2+, S2-, G
Observance of the polarity is recommended.
The use of pre-insulated test leads is recommended.
Use shielded cables by grounding the shield.
Network protections
The network protections required upstream of each E-IPFC depend on the type of installation and
local regulations. We recommend the use of a fuse or magneto-thermal protection with type- C
characteristic curve and type-B differential switch, sensitive to both alternating and direct current.
Electromagnetic compatibility
To ensure electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of the system, the following measures must be applied:
•always ground the device
•use shielded signal cables by grounding the shield at one end only.
•use motor cables as short as possible (< 1 m). For longer lengths it is recommended to use shielded
cables by grounding the screen at both ends.
•install separate signal cables as well as power and motor cables.
