Lubrication

Ball bearings on blade guide assemblies and blade

wheels are permanently sealed and require no

lubrication.

Lightly lubricate the anvil screw with # 2 pipe

grease. Change gearbox oil after the first 90 days

of use. Then change every six months.

To change gearbox oil:

1.  Disconnect the machine from the power

source.

2.  Place the saw arm in horizontal position.

3.  Remove the screws (A, Fig. 17) from the

gearbox and remove the cover plate and

gasket.

4.  Empty the gearbox of oil.

5.  Place the saw arm in the horizontal position

again. Wipe off the remaining oil with a cloth.

6.  Fill the gearbox with approximately 0.3 litres of

gearbox oil.

7.  Replace gasket and lid. Secure the cover with

the screws.

8.  Connect the machine to the power source.

Maintenance

Warning!

Disconnect the machine from the power source

before making any repairs or adjustments.

Failure to do so may result in serious injury.

1.  Keep all surfaces clean and free of rust, slag,

chips and accumulated coolant.

2.  Do not use compressed air to clean the band

saw. Compressed air can force chips into guide

bearings and other critical areas of the saw.

3.  Use a small brush or cleaning brush to remove

metal particles.

4.  Wipe with a clean, dry cloth and oil all

unpainted surfaces with light machine oil.

5.  Keep the blade rails clean and free of metal

chips.

6.  Check the hinge bearings to make sure they are

set correctly and can be rotated freely.

Cleaning brush

WARNING!

Do not attempt to adjust the saw blade brush when

the machine is running, adjust it only when the

machine’s power cable has been removed from the

power source!

Failure to do so may result in serious injury.

It is important that the saw blade cleaning brush is

correctly adjusted and in good condition.

Replace the brush if it gets damaged or worn out.

The service life of the saw blade will be greatly

shortened if the brush is not adjusted, damaged or

worn out.
