Safe operation
- Select the correct cutting wheel for the
material to be cut.
-
WARNING:
Do not use the cutting wheel to
cut other materials than those specified.
- Lift and transport the tool only at its trans-
portation handle with the upper cutting
wheel guard closed.
- Do not use the tile cutter without the
guards in position, in good working order
and properly maintained.
- Keep the floor area around the machine
level, well maintained and free of loose
materials e.g. chips and cut-offs.
- Ensure that the speed marked on the cut-
ting wheel is at least equal to the speed
marked on the tile cutter.
- Ensure that any spacers and spindle rings
used are suitable for the purpose as stated
by the manufacturer.
- Refrain from removing any cut-offs or oth-
er parts of the workpiece from the cutting
area whilst the machine is running with an
unguarded cutting wheel.
- Perform cuts correctly and safely:
a) Ensure before each cut that the table is
stable.
b) Support long workpieces with the work
table extension if needed.
c) Provide adequate general or localized
lighting.
d) The operator is adequately trained in
the use, adjustment and operation of the
machine.
e) Use correctly sharpened cutting wheels.
Observe the maximum speed marked on
the tile cutter.
f) Replace table insert when worn.
Remove the plug from the socket before car-
rying out any adjustment, servicing or main-
tenance.
1. Only tiles can be cut with this tile cutter.
Other materials may shatter or cause the
cutting wheel to grab.
2. Never fit substandard blades. Only fit cor-
rectly sized cutting wheels.
3. Let the cutting wheel reach full speed be-
fore commencing the cut.
4. Do not use damaged or worn cutting
wheels.
5. Ensure that the direction arrow marked on
the cutting wheel corresponds with the ro-
tational direction of the motor.
6. Ensure the movable guard operates freely
without any jamming .
7. Never cut pieces too small to be held se-
curely against the guides. Leave enough
space for the hand to be a safe distance
from the cutting wheel.
8. Regularly check the cutting wheel secur-
ing bolt.
9. Do not run the machine with any part of
the casing missing or damaged.
10. Do not start the tile cutter when the cut-
ting wheel is inserted into the workpiece.
11. Before cutting let the cutting wheel run
freely for a few seconds. If it makes an un-
familiar sound or vibration switch it off im-
mediately and disconnect from the power
supply.
12. Never try to cut free hand. Always ensure
that the workpiece is securely pressed
against the corresponding guide.
13. Do not forget to remove any adjustment
keys, spanner and wrenches before
switching on the tool.
14. When the machine is operating, keep
hands away from the cutting area.
15. Always ensure the safety guard is in work-
ing order before use. Should the guard not
close quickly over the cutting wheel, do
not use the tool.
16. Only use cutting wheels with the correct
bore size for the spindle.
