Having the Projector Serviced
If you are unable to solve the problem, you should have the projector serviced. Pack the projector in the original car-
ton. (See “Unpacking the PT-5700” on page 1.) Include a description of the problem and a checklist of the steps you
took when trying to fix the problem. The information may be useful to the service personnel. Return the projector to
the place you purchased it.
The PT-5700 cannot communicate with
other devices using the infrared port. Make sure of the following:
The IR function is enabled.
The infrared ports are clean.
No objects are between the computer and the communicat-
ing device.
Incorrect data is sent by IR between the PT-
5700 and a communicating device. Make sure of the following:
The distance and angle between the PT-5700 and the
device is within the set range.
There are no fluorescent lamps directly over the PT-5700.
The PT-5700 is not under direct sunlight.
TIP
Before returning the PT-5700 for servicing, check with your reseller for the avail-
ability of a recovery CD-ROM. The recovery CD-ROM may allow you to restore
the operating system and solve the problem.
