Removal Of Rear Heat Shield

Fitting Of Heat Shield
Non Combustible – Fireplace Recess
The stove can be recessed in a suitable sized fireplace but must have
a permanent free air gap of at least 150mm on top and 50mm
(although we recommend 150mm) around the sides and 50mm at
the back of the stove to obtain maximum heat output and for access
to the rear of the stove. The hearth should extend at least 300 mm
from the front of the stove. The stove should stand wholly above a
solid, non-combustible hearth, at least 125 mm thick (this may
include the thickness of a solid floor).
To remove the heat shield,
remove the button-head
screw and pull the shield
towards you until the
right-hand edge clears the
stove body and pops out.
Lift the left-hand edge
clear of the stove body and
remove.
To fit the heat shield for the
Slimline’s and 8 , position the left-
hand edge and then flex the heat
shield until the right-hand edge
clears the stove body and pops into
place. Insert and lightly tighten the
supplied button-head screw to
prevent any rattle. Do not over
tighten the screw as this will
damage the heat shield. All others
are placed on the rear and bolted
on in three places.
For rear flue installations, the
knockout in the rear heat shield
must be removed. Remove
heat shield as above. Carefully
cut through the tabs holding
the knockout section in the
heat shield and remove.
Carefully remove any sharp
edges on the heat shield left
behind by the tabs.
