USB0/USB1 Ports
The XT/IX/PCA PowerStations provide two USB 3.0 (USB0 & USB1) compliant ports to connect USB Flash
drives, keyboards, mice, etc. Both ports are ESD protected, have over-current shutdown and are
backwards compatible with USB 2.0 devices.
Each USB Type A Receptacle is current limited to 1.5A.
External Power Switch Connector
The External Power Switch connector P_SW1, located on the port bracket on the bottom of the unit, can be
used to remotely turn OFF an IX or PCA PowerStation by wiring a momentary pushbutton switch to this
connector. The mate to this connector is supplied in the ship kit included with the units. When used in
conjunction with the Windows WES7P or Windows 10 operating system, the PowerStations can be turned
OFF by holding the external switch closed for approximately 5-10 seconds after closing WES7P or
Windows 10 on the desktop. Conversely, if the unit is OFF (the green Power LED is extinguished),
momentarily closing the switch for about 2-3 seconds will allow the system to begin booting into the
Windows operating system.
WES7P and Windows 10 can also enter a hibernate state by holding the switch closed for approximately 1
second. Once in this state, pressing the switch again for approximately 1 second will awake the unit from
hibernation. Note that XT models with WEC7 can also be turned OFF and ON with this switch, hibernation
is not supported by the (Windows CE7) and therefore implementation of the External Power Switch is not
necessary.
Connection and use of this switch is optional and is not required for use of the product. It can be
implemented if a remote power or hibernate switch is desired in a specific installation.
P_SW1 Connector
CAUTION: A single-pole momentary switch is required for this feature. Use of a
two-position ON/OFF switch will not allow the unit to start or shutdown
as expected. This is a logic level circuit, select a switch that is designed
for low voltage (5VDC) and low current applications.
