Conversion of DSE Type < > RS485 Type 

Each DSE register may have one of the RS485 data types described.  This is the format that the 
Modbus master will ‘see’.  The fieldbus input and output connectors have one of three types: 
logic, integer or value.  DSE will automatically convert between the fieldbus connector type and 
the register type (see 

Appendix A: DSE/RS485 Conversion Rules

). 

Some recommended RS485 type assignments to fieldbus connectors are given in the table 
below.
