FLUSH MOUNT INSTRUCTIONS - STEEL
NOTICE THIS INSTALLATION METHOD REQUIRE THE USE OF THE RETURN GUARD
FLUSH MOUNT FITTING #005-702-9210-XX.
Use rebar steel as required by local building codes.
The notches on top of the skimmer may be used to tie the skimmer to the rebar cage of the pool.

SPIGOT RETURN GUARD BODY (use for less than 1½” skimmer set back.)
Skimmer bottom is PVC plastic. Suction outlet connections are 2” slip. The venturi inlet feed connection
is 1½” slip. For slip connections, apply PVC primer to both PVC pipe and socket connections. Then apply
PVC solvent cement to both pipe and socket connections. Consult solvent cement manufacturer for correct
solvent cement for pipe used. Assemble joint per cement manufacturer’s instructions. Allow at least three
(3) hours before pressure testing.
PLUMBING: Venturi Style, Fig. 2
1. Set the venturi skimmer level as you would install a
conventional skimmer. The skimmer face may be set
within minimum 1½” from the interior of the concrete
shell. OPTIONAL: The skimmer may be set after
the concrete shell is shot. Notch the concrete at the
top of the pool wall where skimmer is to be set and
cut a 8” diameter hole for the venturi return guard to
come through the shell.
2. Optional SUCTION LINE – If used the bottom
suction line from the skimmer to the pump inlet
must be plumbed with 2” Schedule 40 PVC. Plug
the external 2” port of the unused 2nd bottom 2”
suction line. If unused plug both bottom 2” ports.
3. RETURN VENTURI LINE - Water is directed
to the venturi nozzle in the skimmer by installing a
1½” schedule 40 PVC valve controlled line from
the return manifold to the bottom 1½” port of the
skimmer. This valve is set during normal operation
of the skimmer to use about 8-10 GPM through
the Dual-venturi nozzle.
4. VENTURI POOL RETURN - Glue the spigot
return guard body directly into the side front
discharge port of the skimmer. The spigot may
need to be trimmed before gluing so that
it ends up flush with the final interior finish
when applied. Do not reduce the venturi
pool return line.

Venturi style: Skimmer may be set back a maximum

desired, set back is greater than 1½" use standard
fitting and refer to complete manual.
