Procedure
To connect the chassis to a POTS splitter shelf or MDF:
1. Plug the Telco 50-pin cable into the appropriate LINES port of the chassis.
For example, if you have DSL cards in Slots 1 through 6, plug the Telco
50-pin cable to the SLOTS 1 – 6 LINES port as illustrated below.
This may be repeated for SLOTS 7 – 12 and SLOTS 13 – 18.

2. Replace the longer Telco cable captive screw with a shorter connector
captive screw, which is provided with the product.
3. Insert a cable tie (provided with product) through the anchor mount to hold
the Telco 50-pin connector in place.
If more than one cable is being connected, replace the existing cable tie with
a single tie to span the two or three Telco connectors.
4. Make sure the other end is connected to the appropriate POTS splitter shelf
(typically by means of a wire wrap cross-connect at the MDF), MDF, or other
distribution point, such as a 66B punchdown block.
Refer to Appendix B,
Pinouts,
for pin assignments.
NOTE:
If you are connecting the Telco 50-pair cable to an MDF without a POTS
splitter in the line, a converter may be necessary for terminating the other end
of the cable on a punchdown block before cross-connecting to an MDF.
