About the SNMP DSU

What Does the SNMP DSU Do?

The SNMP DSU provides an interface between the customer premises
equipment (CPE) and a DDS network. The DSU’s features and capabilities
include:

Management connectivity

— SNMP NMS

— Enterprise-specific MIBs

Diagnostic functions

— Pattern tests

— Loopback tests

Device Tests

— Power-up self-test

— Lamp test

Typical DSU Configuration

The following illustration shows a typical LAN/WAN interconnection application for
the DSU. The routers connected to the DSU at each location provide the LAN
interconnection.
