6.12.9.2. Drum Detection

Is the drum unit installed?

The drum unit should be judged whether 
it is old or new;
• when Power is ON. 
• when exchanging the drum unit.

Detection Flowchart

Turn the Engine Motor ON.

"INFO CODE=045" is displayed.

"INFO CODE=045" is displayed.

When the signal is not varied for over 7.4 sec;

<When the unit is new>
After the unit is found new, how often 
HI/LOW switched (the number of rotations 
of the paddle) and the number of printed 
papers are counted.
(They are capable of being printed in the 
service history.)

The counting starts all over again after 
resetting the counter.

*1 When the power is turned ON, 
    the initial operation should be done. 
    If the cover is open when the power is turned ON, 
    the initial operation should be done after the cover 
    is closed.
*2 When the power is ON, the initial operation should be
    done only in case that the drum unit is exchanged.

<When the unit is old>
The unit keeps counting continuously.

Judging the unit old or new

The unit is old.

The unit is new.

The fixed number is added to 

the counting.

Return to the start.
