System Test
—
Heating Mode
First ensure that the base station for the heating system is not sending a demand for heating.
Some systems let you do this on the base station and some need the thermostat to be turned
right down.
Once this is done press the Start Stop button so that the green light comes on and the main
display changes. You will have three main display segments as below. Scroll to the left sec-
tion and use the up or down arrows to select just the sun (Heat) icon. Then press the central
button to confirm.
Selecting Heat Only mode
Now set a heating demand on the thermostat or
base station and the units pump will operate. Note
the operation sign next to the Heat icon
Press the centre button to confirm
The unit will operate but it may take some time to start to heat the water from cold. Be patient. Check that the
3 way valve has not operated and the water flow is to the buffer and not hot water cylinder. If the water is cold
then the unit may operate using the electric heater before initiating actual heat pump operation. But gradually
the central displayed temperature (water flow temperature) will increase. If you want to test more quickly then
switch the local switch for the secondary pump off so that the heat pump is only heating the buffer tank and
only switch this back on when the water temperature is above 40C. This will now drop down again.
When the heat pump has actually started operation and the fans outside are rotating you can check the system
operating details by pressing the menu button and selecting System Check. Select Water Temperatures to see
the Flow and Return temperature. Select Compressor to see the compressor speed in Hz (0 is off). Once the
system is operating in a stable manner then check the running Amps on Power Supply 1 with a test meter.
