12.3.1. Adjustment and Measurement of Laser Power/Automatic Adjustment of
Offset, RAM and ROM
This section describes the procedure for adjusting the laser power (read power) for reading
(playback) and the laser power (light power) for writing (recording).
12.3.1.1. Requirements
- Laser power meter (Leader electronics: product #LE8010 or
equivalent)
- ROM disc (pre-mastered disc: REV0006)
- RAM disc (re-writeable music disc)
- The remote controller that comes with the unit
12.3.1.2. Entering to Service Mode
1. Follow Steps 1 to 8 in [9.3. Procedure for Checking MD Servo
P.C.B.] of [9. Disassembly and Main Component Replacement
Procedures before Operation Checks].
2. Remove the MD shield cover.
3. Press [MD / ] button while no MD, CD, or cassette tape is
inserted to the unit. (The power is turned on, and the MD mode is
activated.) (Cf. Fig. 18)
4. While pressing and holding down [STOP ] button on the unit,
press the number key on the remote controller, [4] and then [7].
5. [ ] is lit on the FL display, and the service mode starts. (Cf. Fig.
18)
