UseofexternalDCpowersupply
MakesurethattheoutputvoltageoftheexternalDC
powersupplymeetstheratedvoltageofthecamerabefore
makingaconnection.
TheoutputcurrentoftheexternalDCpowersupplyshould
belargeenoughtoprovidetheconnectedcamerawithits
totalamperageneedswithareasonablemargin.
Usethefollowingformulatocalculatethetotalamperage
ofthecamera.

Whenthepoweristurnedon,arushcurrentoccurs.Ifthe
powersupplyisinsufficientduringthistime,thecamera
maybedamaged.Therefore,werecommendusingan
externalDCpowersupplythatprovidesatleasttwicethe
totalpowerconsumedbythecameraandallthedevices
connectedtotheunitthatpoweronwhenthecamera
powerson(example:viewfinder).TheDCcableshouldbe
atwo-core1AWG(orlarger)shieldedcable(nominal
cross-sectionalarea:0.4mm
).
Whenusinganexternalpowersupplyotherthanthe
ACadaptor,checktheDCINsocketpininformation
toensurecorrectpolarity.Ifa+1Vpowersupplyis
accidentallyconnectedtotheGNDterminal,thiscould
causeafireorpersonalinjury.

NOTE
• When both the battery and the external DC power supply are
connected, power is supplied from the external DC power
supply. The battery can be removed or mounted while using
an external DC power supply.
• When using an external DC power supply, make sure you
turn on the external DC power supply before turning on the
camera-recorder’s power switch. If this sequence is reversed,
the camera-recorder may malfunction due to slow rising of
the external DC power supply voltage.
• The light circuit does not operate when power is supplied
via the DC IN socket. The light circuit can only operate when
power is supplied through the Anton/Bauer battery holder.
