Near Electronic Medical Equipment

This section is based on "Guidelines for Use of Mobile Phones
and Other Devices in Hospitals" (Electromagnetic Compatibility
Conference, August 2014) and "Guidelines for Prevention of
Effects of Radio Waves from Various Equipment Using Radio
Waves on Implantable Medical Equipment" (Ministry of Internal
Affairs and Communications).
If you use an implantable cardiac pacemaker or
cardioverter defibrillator, keep handset more than
15 cm away from the implant at all times.

or■cardioverter■defibrillator■operation.
Persons using electronic medical equipment other than
implantable cardiac pacemaker outside medical
facilities should consult the vendor about possible radio
wave effects.

Observe the following in medical facilities. Handset
radio waves may affect electronic medical equipment.
•■Regarding■use■of■mobile■phones■in■medical■facilities,■strictly■
follow■the■instructions■of■those■facilities.
•■Make■sure■to■power■off■handset■in■operating■rooms,■intensive■
care■units■(ICU),■etc.
•■Keep■the■required■distance■when■near■electronic■medical■
equipment,■even■in■areas■where■mobile■phone■use■is■
permitted■such■as■patient■rooms■and■hospital■lobbies.
If you are in a crowded place where you cannot move
freely and keep a distance of 15 cm or more away from
other people, disable handset communication features
(e.g. Offline Mode) beforehand or power off handset;
implantable cardiac pacemakers and cardioverter
defibrillators may be in use nearby.
