AUTOMATIC WET BATTERY PROTECTION SYSTEM
If your scrubber is equipped with BatteryShield technology, your scrubber will provide you “real time” notification when your wet batteries
need to be watered.
After your machine is charged and you turn the key switch on, BatteryShield will check your water levels for you. You can locate the
BatteryShield optical sensor on the HydroLink® cap on your battery pack and the LED on the back panel of your scrubber.

When your LED remains unlit, it means that your batteries have an acceptable water level. If BatteryShield senses that your batteries need
to be watered, the LED will indicate this with a solid, red light and BatteryShield will not allow your brush motor to function, therefore
preventing further use of the scrubber until the batteries are filled with distilled water using the HydroLink single-point battery watering
system. After filling your batteries, cycle the key switch off then on and your BatteryShield system will be reset.
BatteryShield has been programmed to check the water levels of your batteries after a full charge, so your unit will most likely be in your
janitor’s closet or storage area but if by chance it detects low water during the cleaning operation, it will only shut down the brush
motor preventing the operator from doing any further cleaning. The vacuum motor and transaxle drive motor will still be operable so that
any remaining solution can be recovered and the unit can be transported back to an area where the batteries can be watered.
If your LED has a blinking, red light it means that a HydroLink light pipe needs to be cleaned. Note: Failure to clean your light pipe will limit
BatteryShields’ ability to read the low water condition and may reduce the life of your batteries.
For safety, when cleaning batteries, wear protective gloves and eye protection. Avoid contact with battery acid. CAUTION:

Remove the HydroLink battery cap that has the BatteryShield optical sensor attached to it. Do not remove the BatteryShield sensor from
the HydroLink cap.
Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe the pointed tip and shaft of the light pipe. Snap the HydroLink cap back into place on
the battery. Cycle the key switch. The BatteryShield LED should stop blinking if light tube has been cleaned effectively. If repeated attempts
to clean the light pipe are unsuccessful, a new HydroLink cap will be required.
