Gas Pressure Testing Procedure
Note: This section covers gas pressure testing for both SIT and Maxitrol gas valves.
Note: To test the gas pressure, turn off the gas supply to the appliance before loosening test point
screws. Verify gas pressures with the fireplace lit and at the highest setting.
1. Remove surround.
2. Locate the inlet and outlet test points on the valve which can be seen in (Figure 41). After locating test
ports loosen the cap ends within the ports using a 3/16” Allan key.
3. If necessary, attach brass test extensions to the test ports. Extensions are not included (Figure 43).
4. Attach one end of hoses to brass extensions and the other end to the pressure gauge.
5. Turn gas supply back on and test pressures.
6. After testing is finished turn off gas supply, remove the pressure gauges, apply thread sealant to cap ends
and re-tighten (Figure 44).
