Propane Conversion
Caution: The gas supply shall be shut off prior to disconnecting the electrical power,
before proceeding with conversion.
Use only kit #_____ to convert the fireplace from Natural Gas to Propane. This kit comes with
an Propane burner orifices (______mm), and a Propane Stepper Motor pressure regulator
assembly. Do not use any other components.
WARNING
This conversion kit shall be installed by a qualified service agency in accordance with the
manufacturer's instructions and all applicable codes and requirements of the authority
having jurisdiction.
If the information in these instructions is not followed exactly, a fire, explosion or production
of carbon monoxide may result causing property damage, personal injury or loss of life.
The qualified service agency is responsible for the proper installation of this kit.
The installation is not proper and complete until the operation of the converted appliance is
checked as specified in the manufacturer's instructions supplied with the kit.
To switch the Stepper Motor pressure regulator assembly, follow the
SIT instructions that are provided with the conversion kit.
To change the burner orifice and adjust the pilot orifice Slider Strip,
follow the instruction below:
Proceed only when the fireplace has completely cooled down.
1. Remove the Safety Screen and set aside. See "Safety Screen
Removal" section in this manual.
2. Remove the Glass Door assembly and set aside. See "Door
Removal" section in this manual.
3. Remove any burner media that may be installed.
4. Remove the four burner plates, one in front and one in behind the
burner and one at each side of the burner.
5. Remove the front filler strip and set aside.
6. Next, remove the six screws retaining the burner in place, 3 along
the front edge and 3 along the back edge. Once removed, slide
the burner to the left to disengage the venturi tube from the orifice
housing and remove burner.
Note: Factory supplied
components must be used
to ensure correct input.
After conversion has been
completed, confirm proper
manifold pressure. See Gas
Pressure Testing section.
