ELECTROCUTION HAZARD!
DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY WILL OCCUR IF NOT AVOIDED!
An electrocution hazard exists because severe electrical shock hazards exist
when working around the high-voltage and/or 115/230 VAC components while
power is applied. Extreme care should be taken while working inside the
Electronics Module with power applied. Both low- and high-voltages are present
in this module and an electric shock hazard exists.
HOW TO PROCEED: Avoid hazard by turning off the unit with the ON/OFF
switch and remove the power connection or power cord from the unit to the
power source. Also, follow any required lock-out/tag-out procedures your
company policy requires.
To prevent electrical shock hazard DO NOT operate this equipment in rain or
wet conditions.
2. Locate the detector module suspected of having the light leak(s).
3. Set the detector sensitivity to X50.
4. Press the Auto Zero button and allow the baseline to settle to the zero point.
5. Locate the light leak(s) using a strong light source (i.e., flashlight, penlight, etc.). Slowly move the
light source over all parts of the reaction chamber and PMT housing until the signal level indicator on
the front panel exhibits a positive deflection. This is the point of the light leak.
6. When all light leaks have been identified, turn the main power switch to the OFF position.
7. Disassemble the component containing the light leak and repair the leak by changing the fitting(s),
O-ring(s), etc.
8. Re-assemble the repaired components.
9. Perform the start-up procedure to confirm proper operation of the system.
10. Recalibrate the instrument.
Light leaks can only be detected if the entire detector system is operational.
1. Carefully test all parts of the reaction chamber and PMT housing. Light leaks may occur in more than one
location.
2. Light leaks usually occur in the vicinity of gas fittings, covers, or O-ring seals. These areas should be tested
carefully.
