Normal operation of the workshop press
Adjust the bed frame to the correct height according to the size of the items been worked on.
The bed frame is adjusted by insertion of the pins in the holes on the posts. When the bed
frame is adjusted correctly, you can place the workpiece on the support plate, so the part to
be pressed free is in the middle of the hole in the support plates. Close the valve on the pump
cylinder by tightening the thumbscrew. Pump with the pump rod until the cylinder reaches
the workpiece on the support plate. Before proceeding, make sure that the workpiece is
placed correctly above the hole and that the workpiece is fixed and cannot move or tip over.
Pump against the workpiece until the part is pressed free. Finally, the valve is opened by
turning it slowly counterclockwise and the cylinder will retract to its starting position.
Storage and maintenance
•
When the workshop press is not in operation, the
cylinder should always be contracted - this way rust
is avoided on the piston.
•
All moving pump parts must be kept lubricated with
a little oil.
•
The workshop press itself must be wiped with a dry
cloth.
•
Store the workshop press in a dry place.
Filling with hydraulic oil
On the pump part is a control plug, which can be
loosened with a normal screwdriver (with a straight
notch).
It can be checked whether the pump part needs oil by
putting a piece of bent wire or similar into the hole – the
oil level must be approximately 1 cm below the hole to
the plug (with compressed piston).
A standard hydraulic oil such as HM32 or HM46 is
recommended.
