Special safety information for exhaust mode
Risk of poison/fire!
Air is drawn by the fan from the room in which a cooker hood is operating in
exhaust mood, and transported outside. If fire installations depending on the air
(e.g. gas or other fuel-operated heaters) are operating within the room at the
same time, the oxygen that these require to burn may be pulled from them. This
may result in the flame extinguishing and gas leaking out, or the exhaust fumes
being sucked into the room.
Hazard-free operation is possible if, for example, the air for burning can flow
through non-sealing openings in doors, windows, or air vents, and if sub-pressu-
re of no more than 0.04 mbar is achieved in the appliance room. This prevents
re-suction of the exhaust fumes.
When determining the necessary measures, the entire ventilation system of the
flat must be inspected. Please consult your local master chimney sweep.
Never attach the cooker hood to a ventilation shaft or room/exhaust gas stack!
The deviated air cannot be fed into a channel in which hot air is circulating. The
suctioned air may only be led outside via a separate air canal intended for the
cooker hood.
Important!
A wall penetration of at least 15.5 cm in diameter is required for exhaust
mode. We recommend that you hire a specialist (electrical installation)
to perform this work (core drilling).
Remember: The shorter the exhaust tube and the less it curves, the more
efficient the cooker hood will be.
The official regulations for disposing of exhaust air vary from state to state.
Consult your local chimney sweep.
