2 Product description
2.1 Design
The product consists of the following components:

1. Fingertips
The position can be rotated by ±60° to adapt to various tasks.

2. Safety lever
To unlock the prehensile arm drive (see page 26)

Position of the rocker switch towards the prosthetic socket:
electronics switched on and flexion brake released
Position of the rocker switch towards the terminal device: elec­
tronics switched off and flexion joint blocked

2.2 Function
The product is a myoelectrically controlled terminal device of the MyoBock prosthesis system.
Various control programmes make optimal adaptation to the individual needs and abilities pos­
sible.
The terminal device is based on the Ottobock DMC system (DMC=Dynamic Mode Control): This
system, which has been developed by Ottobock, uses two independent measurement and control
systems in order to optimally control the gripping speed and gripping force in accordance with
the muscle signal.
3 Intended use
3.1 Indications for use
The product is intended
exclusively
for upper limb exoprosthetic fittings.
3.2 Conditions of use
The product was developed for everyday use and must not be used for unusual activities. These
unusual activities include, for example, sports which involve excessive strain and/or shocks to the
wrist joint (pushups, downhill racing, mountain biking, ...) or extreme sports (free climbing,
paragliding, etc.). Furthermore, the product should not be used to operate motor vehicles, heavy
equipment (e.g. construction machines), industrial machines or motor-driven equipment.
Permissible ambient conditions are described in the technical data (see page 27).
The product is intended
exclusively
for use on
one
user. Use of the product by another person is
not approved by the manufacturer.
3.3 Indications
• Amputation level below-elbow, above-elbow and shoulder disarticulation
• For unilateral or bilateral amputation
• Dysmelia of the forearm or upper arm
