FM Balance
Fitting verifi cation
• Measure the hearing aid response at 65dB SPL through the coupler microphone (Curve 1).
• The hearing aid is taken out of the box and put aside, still connected to the coupler.
• The receiver is attached to the hearing aid and turned on.
• The transmitter microphone is then placed on the same reference position in the box and the measurement is repeated at 65dB SPL (Curve 2).
• The two measurements are compared to see if the levels are similar. In case that the FM output is different than the aid, the receiver gain should
be adjusted accordingly. The process is repeated until the two curves more or less overlap.
• Finally, the FM system is measured again at 80dB SPL (Curve 3). Because of transmitter compression, you will expect to see an FM advantage
from 0 to 10dB. (Curve 3).
