5.8.2. Replacing the transformer unit
If the transformer unit is fi tted with perimeter
protection and other accessories (e.g. terminal
box, cable input/output protection), remove these
beforehand.
Proceed as follows to replace the transformer:
• Remove the power supply in the primary and secondary
connections to the
mb
.m transformer substation.
Follow the procedure of the utility company and local
electrical safety regulations.
• Unscrew the four anchorage points of the transformer
from the metal frame. Use a 24 mm open-end wrench.
• Remove the medium voltage cable connections and
the transformer low voltage outputs as indicated in the
relevant general instructions.
• Disconnect the transformer's earth connection from the
substation's earthing circuits using a 13 mm wrench.
• Remove the transformer as indicated in the general
instructions of the associated switchgear.
The aforementioned procedure must be carried out
in reverse order in order to re-commission the
mb
.m
transformer substation.
5.8.3. Access to the transformer site
Local electrical safety regulations must be taken into
account when accessing the transformer. Remove the
power supply in the primary and secondary connections to
the
mb
.m transformer substation.
Follow the procedure of the utility company and local
electrical safety regulations.
The
mb
.m perimeter fence consists of panels secured
to frames using polyamide clamps. The diff
erent
metal elements of the perimeter fence are connected
equipotentially to each other and to the protective earth
of
mb
.m by means of conductors and electrowelded
connection points.
