5.8. Replacing the electrical equipment
5.8.1. Replacing the medium voltage switchgear
Proceed as follows to replace the electrical equipment
installed in
mb
.m:
• Remove the power supply in the medium and
low voltage connections to the mb .m transformer
substation, where present.
Follow the procedure of the utility company and local
electrical safety regulations.
• Open the access doors to the medium voltage
switchgear.
• Disconnect the cover earth connection using a 13 mm
wrench.
• Remove the interlock that prevents the cover from
being unscrewed from the outside, located on the top
right and left parts.

• Unscrew the two M10 screws of each of the four lugs of
the cover. Use a 17 mm wrench.

• Remove the cover by lifting it by the four lifting lugs.
Cover weight 85 kg.
• Remove the medium voltage cable connections and
the low voltage outputs as indicated in the general
instructions of the corresponding switchgear.
• Unscrew the fastenings of the medium voltage cubicle
from the base of the enclosure using a 17 mm wrench.
• Disconnect the earth connections of the equipment
from the earthing circuits using a 13 mm wrench.
• Remove the unit through the hole in the enclosure roof,
using the lifting elements and means set out in the
general instructions of the associated switchgear.
The aforementioned procedure must be carried out
in reverse order in order to re-commission the mb .m
transformer substation.
