REGULATIONS
This product is compliant with the European Directive on Me-
dical Devices 93/42/EEC (Spanish Royal Decree 1591/2009). A
Risk Analysis (EN ISO 14971) was done, minimising all exis-
ting risks.
Strictly observe municipal ordinance when discarding the pac-
kaging and product.
SUITABLE FOR
This mattress is recommended to prevent pressures ulcers up
to Grade I (ACDE01#UNI), Grade II (ACDE02#UNI) and as an
auxiliary method to treat patients who spend long periods of
time in bed. It is used as a mattress cover; therefore a base
mattress is required for proper use. The user must not weigh
more than the maximum weight indicated.
COUNTERINDICATIONS
Patient conditions for which therapy using an alternating
pressure system is not recommended:
· Cervical or skeletal traction.
· Unstable marrow dysfunction.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Pump
1. Switch: The switch is on the right side of the pump. By
turning the switch ON/OFF, the Start/Stop pump begins/
stops operating. 2. Air valves: Connect the air tubes to the
air valves. 3. Pressure adjustment button: Turn the Min./Max.
button to a comfortable pressure level.

Alternating pressure mattress

USE
Step 1. Position the alternating pressure mattress. The air
tubes must be at the foot of the bed where the air valves on
the left side of the pump can be easily connected.
Step 2. Cover it with a cotton sheet to prevent direct contact
with the skin and reduce friction.
Step 3. Hang the pump over the frame at the foot of the bed.
Make sure the pump is secure.
Step 4. Connect the alternating pressure mattress air
tubes to the pump air valves. Make sure they are correctly
connected.
ATTENTION: Make sure the air tubes are not bent or under
the alternating pressure mattress.
Step 5. Plug in the power cable
NOTE: Before plugging in, make sure the voltage is compa-
tible.
Step 6. Connect the power by pressing the on/off switch to
the right of the pump. See the operating section.
Step 7. Make sure the pump is turned off and the power
cable is unplugged when not in use.
STEP-BY-STEP OPERATION:
Pump APP
Step 1. Turn it on. The switch light will turn on. The pump will
begin pumping air into the pillow.
Step 2. The first time it is used, turn the pressure button all
the way up.
Step 3. After fully inflating it, turn the pressure button and
adjust the pressure from gentle to strong in accordance with
the patient’s weight and preferences.
Set the pressure. The pressure button should be at the maxi-
mum setting when the pillow is blown up for the first time.
Users can then easily adjust the pillow pressure level to the
desired firmness or as recommended by a professional.
If the pressure is low, check for any leaks in the air tubes.
Contact your local distributor to replace damaged tubes.
CLEANING:
Pump
Do not submerge or soak the pump in water. Check for any
external damage and move the pump to a cleaning area.
Place the pump on a work surface and clean the outside of
the box with a quaternary ammonium solution. Do not use
any cleaning product directly on the pump surface. Do not
use any hypocarbonate or phenol-based cleaning product as
it could damage the box.
The solution should remain on the product for 10 min. or as
indicated on the cleaning product used. Clean the front with
a cloth. Do NOT allow any excess cleaning product on the
control panel or front of the box. If the product gets inside
the box, it will damage the pump. Let the surface completely
dry after cleaning.
When the pump is completely clean and dry, plug in the
pump and test it to guarantee normal operation.
Alternating pressure mattress
Any blood stain must be moistened with a 1:9 hypochlorite
solution (1 part bleach and 9 parts water). Let dry for at
least 10 min. Then dry with a clean, damp cloth. Let air dry
completely.
Once dry inside, turn it over: clean the outside of the alterna-
ting pressure mattress.
PRECAUTIONS
The construction material is inflammable. Do not expose the
products to situations that could set them on fire. In the event
of a fire, quickly let go of them and use the proper resources
to put it out. Do not expose the product to direct heat sources
such as stoves, heaters, radiators, etc.
RECOMMENDATIONS AND WARNINGS
Follow these safety measures when electrical products are
used and particularly in the presence of children:
DANGER
(to reduce the risk of electrical shock).
· Unplug immediately after use.
· Do not use while bathing.
· Do not place or store the product where it may fall into
water.
· Do not place or let fall in water or any other liquid.
· Do not touch the product after it has fallen into water.
Immediately unplug.
WARNINGS
(to reduce the risk of burns, electrical
shock, fire or injury).
· The product may not be left alone when plugged in.
· The product must be supervised by an adult and kept out of
the reach of children.
· Use this product only for the intended use as described in
this manual. Do not use accessories not recommended by
the manufacturer.
· A broken cable or socket. If it does not work properly or has
fallen, been broken or submerged in water, call an authorised
distributor to repair or replace it.
· Keep the power cable far from hot surfaces.
· Do not cover air outlets on the product or leave on any type
of soft surface such as a bed or sofa where the air outlets
may get blocked.
· Keep the air outlets free of fuzz, hair and dust.
· Do not let it fall or insert any object into any opening or the
hose.
· Do not use outside or where aerosols (sprays) or oxygen
are used.
· Connect this product only to earthed sockets. See the
instructions.
STORAGE AND MAINTENANCE
STORAGE
Smooth out the alternating pressure mattress. Carefully fold
or roll. Unplug the pump and store with the identification la-
bel. Follow national regulations when disposing of the pump.
MAINTENANCE
Periodically check the power cable and socket for any
abrasions or excessive wear. Plug in the pump and check the
air flow from the hose connection port. The air flow must
alternate between ports every half-cycle.
Keep in a dry place at room temperature.
WARRANTY
ORLIMAN, S.L.U. guarantees all its products as long as the
original configuration has not been manipulated or altered. It
does not guarantee any products with altered characteristics
due to improper use, defects or breakage of any kind. The
compressor comes with a 2-year warranty and the mattress,
a 6-month warranty, for material or manufacturing defects.
Excluded from the warranty are imperfections caused by im-
proper use, accidents or natural wear of parts such as plastic
components, footrests, upholstery, brakes, tips, inner tubes
and wheelchair tyres and similar parts, depending on the type
of medical product acquired.
If you do not follow the instructions, warnings and the notes
in the user’s manual, you or a third party may be physically
injured or the product may be damaged.
If you observe any defect, anomaly or failure, notify the dea-
ler immediately so it may be replaced or repaired.
