2. Press the shutter release button half down so that the liquid crystal display shows
"Flash charging".
3. Press the shutter release button.
FILL-IN FLASH
In this operating mode, the flash is activated if the user wishes to photograph subjects
with sunlight coming from the side or from the rear. This mode allows natural-looking
photographs to be taken by softening the reproduction of harsh shadows.
0 1. Press the "Mode" switch until the appropriate symbol appears on the liquid crystal
display.
0 2. Press the shutter release button. The flash fires each time the shutter is released.
FLASH OFF
This operating mode prevents the flash from operating and thus allows photographs
to be taken using available light in places where the use of flash photography is
prohibited.
0 1. Press the "Mode" switch until the appropriate symbol appears on the liquid crystal
display.
0 2. Press the shutter release button and the flash is not fired when the shutter is released.
0 · In the flash off mode, the camera uses a long shutter speed (of up to 1/3 second) to
make use of the available light. If you wish to avoid any blurring of the picture, we
recommend the use of a tripod.
0 · Photography through a pane of glass. For maximum sharpness, set the focusing
distance to "infinity".
0 · Press the "Mode" button to select the "infinity" setting.
0 · This ensures a depth of focus over a large focusing range. For dark exposure
conditions, such in the evening or at night, the shutter opening time should be
increased and a tripod used to reduce camera shake.
