Board Connection
ORBCOMM recommends the following connector/standoff set when mounting the modem.
Molex 48338-0057 - PCI Express/PCI Connectors, 0.8mm pitch
PEM SMTSO-256-4ET - Mounting standoffs
2/56 thread, 3/16” length, 18-8 stainless steel, pan-head, Phillips screws

RF Connections
The GPS and ORBCOMM VHF RF connectors are Hirose U.FL series parts. There are several mating
plugs available, allowing different coaxial cable diameters. Cable assemblies and plug adapters are
available to transition to several standard miniature RF connector types. Ideally, final antenna
connections should have a chassis-bonded ground connection.
