5.1 Making the parts for the fuselage
5.1.1 Glue together the fuselage pattern side parts 1 (page 7) on the lines shown on the pattern and the
trace or cut out the contour of the two side parts and the formers 2-4 (See page 11) and the strengt-
heners 5 and 6 (See page 11) on to the plywood sheet 3 x 200 x 400 (Study the cutting plan carefully!!
You can glue the patterns onto the plywood or draw around them )
Work with care!!! The formers 2-6 must be all the same width ( 20m ) this important.
5.1.3 Lay one of the cut out sides directly on the plan. Then glue on the formers 2,3,4 using the plan to po-
sition them and a set square to make sure that they are exactly at 90 degrees
Glue the nose part 7 in position as well.
5.13 One the formers are in position
and have dried
you can add the second half of the nose assembly.
Use a set square to check that the whole assembly is square
Cut a strip from the card strip 8 a little wider than the gap between the two halves
Use a hard glue or PVA to glue the card strip in place stating from underneath and working around to
the top until the notch.
5.1.4 The two wing holders, part 11 should be trimmed ( see plan ) sanded and laid alongside each other
on the building board. Then the cradle ends 9 and 10 glued in place ensuring that they are
the cor-
rect distance apart.
NOTE :
There is cradle part 9 and a rear cradle part 10 DO NOT MIX these up otherwise your model will not
fly. Mark them to make sure that You place the correct one in the correct position !!!!!
The beech dowels must lay flat on the building board and held until everything dried. Finally this as-
sembly must be glued on to the fuselage tube part
14 , so that the wings will lay solid on the cradle
( No gap between the tube and this part ) See the position on the plan.
5.2 Making and assembling the tail assembly
5.2.1 Draw the outline ( See page 12 ) of the tail fin 12 on to the 6mm hard foam sheet and cut it out.
Cut out the tail fin part 13 (130 x 350) See page 13.
