When the unit is connected to the R-805TX:
→
Set to “SPDIF/PCM”.
When the unit is connected to the R-805TX and
ED-205:
→
Set to “SPDIF/RAW”. If you want to use the 2
channel output for analog recording, etc., set
to “PCM”.
Caution
When the DVD Player is connected digitally to a
digital amplifier that does not incorporate the
Dolby Digital/DTS decoder, do not set “AUDIO
OUT” to “SPDIF/RAW”. If you do so, high colume
sound may be output and damage your hearing
as well as the speakers. (See page 19.)
CAPTIONS
Some DVD videos contain special subtitles, an
enhancement of closed captions for hearing
impaired persons. The DVD Player automatically
displays these special subtitles by setting this item
to “ON”.
• ON
The extended subtitles are displayed
automatically.
• OFF
The extended subtitles are not displayed.
SCR SAVER (SCREEN SAVER)
If you pause a picture for a long time, the screen
saver automatically operates by setting this item
to “ON”.
• ON
The screen saver is enabled.
• OFF
The screen saver is disabled.

AUDIO OUT
The output sound format can be changed by
changing the setting of “AUDIO OUT” –– the
sound signal conversion method.
This setting is related to the equipment connected
to the DVD Player’s DIGITAL OUTPUT connectors/
ANALOG OUTPUT jacks. (See pages 16-20.)
• SPDIF/RAW
Select when you make the digital connection
with an amplifier with a Dolby Digital/DTS
decoder or when you make the analog
connection with an amplifier or AV surround
processor with multi channel input jacks.
The DVD player outputs digital audio
information in the bitstream format and multi
channel analog audio information when you
play a DVD-Video recorded in the Dolby
Digital or DTS recording system.
• SPDIF/PCM
Select when you make the digital connection
with the 2 channel digital stereo.
The Dolby Digital sound signals are converted
into PCM 2ch format and output from the
DIGITAL OUTPUT jacks and ANALOG OUTPUT
2 CH jacks.
