6. Using the UPS monitoring software and contact signal

6-2 When using the included UPS monitoring software

PowerAct Pro” UPS monitoring software

Using the included “PowerAct Pro” UPS monitoring software allows you to automatically save files and shut
down your computer when a power failure occurs.

The schedule settings also allow you to perform your required operations, such as the UPS auto startup,
auto stop, etc.

* However, make settings so that the amount of time from the occurrence of the power failure until com-

puter shutdown is complete is less than the backup time measured in “7-1. Measuring the backup time”
on page 60.
For more details, refer to the instruction manual and online help for the UPS monitoring software.

When using PowerAct Pro

1. Connect the UPS to a computer.

Cable: The included serial communication (RS-232C) cable or USB communication cable
* The serial communication cable and USB cable cannot be used at the same time.

2. Install the included UPS monitoring software on the computer.

Software to install: PowerAct Pro
How to install: Refer to the separate “UPS monitoring software quick installation guide”.
