Feature #1: Anti-Carjacking Protection. (Factory Setting: OFF)
Feature Turned On: After turning the ignition switch "on" and starting the vehicle,
you must press the Easy Valet
TM
switch within 60 seconds. If the valet switch is not
pressed the security system will begin chirping 53 seconds after the ignition was turned
"on". These chirps are to remind you that the Anti-Carjack is about to engage; pressing
the valet switch during the chirps will stop the Anti-Carjack feature. The chirps will
last for 7 seconds, after which time the siren will fully engage and the parking lights
will begin flashing to attract attention to the vehicle. 30 seconds after the siren and
parking lights engage, or, any time the ignition is turned "off" the starter interrupt will
engage. Once the Anti-Carjack is engaged, the only way to disengage it is to turn the
ignition "off", then back "on" again, and then press the valet switch within 5 seconds.
Feature #2: Opening Door Anti-Carjack Protection. (Factory Setting: OFF)
Feature Turned On: This feature adds further protection to the Anti-Carjacking
feature described above. The Easy Valet
TM
Switch must still be pressed within 60
seconds to cancel the Anti-Carjacking feature when the ignition switch is turned "on".
While the ignition switch is "on", if a door is opened, then closed, the Opening Door
Anti-Carjack feature will initiate the 60 second Anti-Carjacking cycle described
previously.
