Chapter 6
ISO Sensitivity
The higher the ISO value, the greater the camera’s light sensitivity and the
better its ability to shoot in low-light conditions. However, higher values also
produce more “noise” in the resulting images.

ISO.
There are 4 choices of ISO: AUTO, 100, 200, or 400. Choose the best one for
your shooting conditions.
AUTO
: Sensitivity is automatically adjusted according to the lighting
conditions and the subject brightness.
100/200/400
: 100 is best when you want to shoot clear, sharp images in
daylight. With a higher ISO setting, you can use faster shutter
speeds with the same amount of light.

ISO
●
Higher ISO can produce more noise.
●
ISO is standardized based on the sensitivity of normal camera film. The
scale is approximate.
●
When ISO is set to AUTO and you are shooting in dark conditions without a
flash, ISO automatically increases; otherwise the shutter speed will be
reduced, possibly resulting in camera movement and blurred images.
●
If a subject is too far away for the flash illumination to reach it when the ISO
is set to 100, the ISO is automatically increased.
●
When using slow synchronization in the P, S or A mode, the slowest
available shutter speed varies depending on the ISO setting.
