Use the arrow pad to move the AF
target mark to the area you want to
focus on.

Take the picture.
• Selecting either [iESP] or [SPOT] AF
modes will exit AF target mark selection
mode.
This function enables you to focus on dark subjects
with the auto focus.
ON
When you press the shutter button halfway,
the AF illuminator lights automatically to
illuminate the subject.
OFF
The AF illuminator does not light.

Note
• AF area is not available when the [DIGITAL ZOOM] is set to [ON].
• The location of the AF target mark cannot be saved.
TIPS
To change the aperture value, shutter speed or exposure after moving the
AF target mark
→
Pressing the
N
button confirms the AF target area’s position. After that you
are able to change the aperture value, shutter speed and exposure using the
arrow pad.
Pressing the
N
button again displays the top menu and the AF target mark
returns to the center of the screen.

Note
• When taking close-ups at less than 80 cm (2.6 ft.), the AF illuminator lights but
the subject may not be in focus.
