1. To set the Indicator:
1 ) Align the top of the paper with the front edge of
the E rasure Table ( Figure 5. 1 8-a ).
2) Rotating the Gear by hand, align the number
equal to the length of the paper (on the silver
scale for inches or yellow scale for
centimeters) with the "◄" on the left edge of
the Erasure Table.
If you are using standard 8 ½" x 1 1 " paper,
the scale should be set as shown in Figure
5.1 8-a.
2. To read the Indicator:
1 ) Once the bottom of the paper is no longer in
sight, read the number (in inches or
centimeters) on the red scale that is lined up
with the "◄" on the Erasure Table to
determine how much paper remains (Figure
5 1 8-b). In this example, two inches, or five
centimeters, of paper remains.

Your typewriter can type the following special
signs and symbols located at the upper-right
side of the three-character keys (top row)

These signs and symbols can be typed as
follows
1 ) Hold down the Code Key and press the Express
Key. A beep will sound indicating that your
typewriter is now in the Keyboard II mode.
2) Press and hold down the Shift Key, or press the
Shift Lock Key to lock it.
3) Type the key with the desired symbol. (If you
pressed the Shift Key, keep it depressed.)
4) Hold down the Code Key and press the Express
Key again to terminate the second keyboard
and restore the standard keyboard. Two beeps
sound this time. You used the Shift Lock Key,

press either Shift Key to unlock it.
