5.4 MINERAL SCAN
When prospecting for mineral deposits or naturally occurring minerals or formations located in
the ground, it is important to work in a clean environment, free of debris. Debris may contami-
nate the area and lower the probability of success. The presence of debris may also lead to false
or misleading signals. Be sure to always work with data that can be repeated.
The Visualizer 3D Studio software or the geophysical equipment itself can not identify element
specific materials, minerals or items that occur naturally in the ground. It can identify and locate
the presence of ferrous, non-ferrous, fracture zones and other naturally occurring anomalies.
The actual detection of gold is based on results from various known gold fields and mines. It is
completely possible that other non-ferrous elements resemble the results obtained from gold.
When searching for fields of mineralization, it is important to identify areas of higher probabil-
ity with the assistance or research of a geologist. Locating and prospecting in known areas of
higher probability will greatly increase your chances of success. Different geological formations
may give different results in any particular area. If possible, start the training and/or field test-
ing of the equipment in a known area to identify the mineral signature in the software properly.
Different locations will have various geologic properties and may or may not be able to give an
accurate reading or measurement.
5.4.1 Preparing a Mineral Scan
The operating mode “Mineral Scan” only works with the Super Sensor and can only be stored in the
internal memory. Select one of the four memory areas before conducting the actual measurement.

Power on the device and select "Mineral Scan".
If there is no Super Sensor connected, the
button is disabled and displays the
icon.
If the Super Sensor is connected, please con-
firm the operating mode "Mineral Scan" with
the
button.
