Creating sample printouts
Demo page
The demonstration page shows some of the features of
the printer and can be printed as follows:
1.
Press the ON-LINE button so that the display
reads OFF-LINE (Ready indicator off).
2.
Press the FORM FEED/
Print Demo
button for at
least two seconds and the message DEMO HP
PCL6 is displayed.
3.
Press ENTER.
4.
The message PRINT DEMO is displayed and a
demo page is then printed.
Sample font listing
A fonts listing shows what fonts are resident in the
printer and can be printed as follows:
1.
Press the ON-LINE button so that the display
reads OFF-LINE (Ready indicator off).
2.
Press the TRAY TYPE/
Print Fonts
button for at
least two seconds and the message FONTS HP
PCL6 is displayed.
3.
Press ENTER.
4.
The message PRINT FONTS is displayed and a
list of fonts installed in the printer is then printed.
Menu list
The functions of the printer are controlled by means of
the keys on the operator panel. These functions are
arranged into a menu system for ease of use.
1.
Press the ON-LINE button so that the display
reads OFF-LINE (Ready indicator off).
2.
Press and hold the PAPER SIZE/
Print Menu
key
for at least 2 seconds and the message MENU HP
PCL6 is displayed.
3.
Press ENTER.
4.
The message PRINT MENU is displayed and a
configuration list showing the factory default and
current user deafult settings for menu items is
then printed.
Note:
The settings of menu items are explained in the
User’s Guide.
