The printer icon should appear on the desktop.
Printer driver installation (14i) - USB
There are 3 steps that must be performed to install the
printer driver using a USB connection:
1.
Run the installer; this installs the plugin file &
PPD to the System Folder, and also installs the
"Desktop Printer Utility" in a folder on the
Startup disk called "Desktop Printer Utility".
2.
Use the "Desktop Printer Utility" to setup the
connection to the printer; this is required because
t he M a c C ho o s e r do e s n o t di s c ove r U S B
PostScript printers.
3.
Enable the plugin file via the driver dialog.
Run the Installer Program
Double-click on the "Install OKIPAGE 14i" file. This
installs the LaserWriter plugin file, PPD file, and the
Apple Desktop Printer Utility.
Use the Desktop Printer Utility
1.
Open the "Desktop Printer Utility" folder that the
installer has created, and double-click on the icon
called "Desktop Printer Utility".
2.
Select "Printer (USB)" and click
OK
.
Note:
Please ensure that the dropdown menu at the top
says "With: LaserWriter 8"
3.
Select the top "Change..." button to select the
PPD (Postscript Printer Description) file for the
printer.
